Enterprise Systems Engineer

Our client is experiencing tremendous growth and needs additional support of their Data Center & Systems operations team. The ideal candidate will serve as a technical expert in the area of system administration for complex operating systems, responsible for successful implementation, and system availability. This is a permanent hire opportunity.
The following are high level requirements for this role:
• 5+ years of experience as a Windows Systems Engineer
• Experience with Linux and/or Citrix
• Three (3) years of experience within the last five years managing an enterprise level, multi-server environment
Responsibilities:
• Plan, design, test, implement, troubleshoot enterprise server and storage systems
• Design, deploy, and maintain company server hosts, storage systems, virtual machines, and related hardware
• Actively works to maintain and develop expertise on relevant technology products, services, protocols, and standards to remain abreast of developments in the networking industry
• Implement and maintain security solutions, including firewall, anti-virus, and remedy processes
• Produce written documentation for proposals which describe solutions to business problems, including the equipment recommended, cost of the equipment, and time required to successfully (and fully) implement the solution
• Aid in development of business continuity and disaster recovery plans
• Manage servers and their associated operating systems/software
• Perform domain security audits
• Interact with vendors, outsourcers, and contractors to secure server products and services
• Provide training and relevant document for support personnel (which includes Help Desk, computer technicians, and trainers), internal/external customers, and management
• Define and monitor server storage space allotments
Experience:
• Requires one of the following:
 Bachelor’s degree in the field of Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field
 High School Diploma/Equivalent AND five (5) years of equivalent IT related work experience within the last 8 years
• Three (3) years of experience within the last five years managing a multi-server environment
• One (1) year of experience with VMWare administration and management
• Experience configuring server operating systems
• Excellent verbal communication skills, including the ability to communicate effectively and persuasively with individuals, groups, or work teams to explain difficult technical issues and the ability to listen effectively
• Ability to maintain composure and adapt in a dynamic, fast-paced, customer-focused work environment characterized by rapid change, minimal lead times, and multiple competing priorities
• Microsoft server technologies to include the ability to manage and administrate DNS, DHCP, and all Active Directory administrative functions, preferred
• Ability to obtain and maintain a valid driver’s license
• Up to 15% domestic travel
• Additional work hours including weekends, holidays, and on-call as required
