SharePoint Development Manager

Our client is a long standing, Michigan based manufacturer with an industry leading product line sold worldwide.  The company manufactures their own production equipment and raw materials used in the manufacturing process.  They are growing rapidly and incorporating corporate wide technology advancements.  The SharePoint Development Manager will oversee all aspects of software development and customization in SharePoint and related systems through the effective development of tools and practices including .NET development, SharePoint Designer usage, customization of SharePoint branding using HTML/CSS/JS and other tasks to build solutions in SharePoint and related systems

The following are high level requirements for the role:

  • Two (2) years of experience in a leadership position on a software development team
  • Three (3) years of experience in SharePoint administration, development, or analysis; senior level experience preferred
  • Strong management and leadership skills

Responsibilities:

  • Ensure proper management, prioritization, and escalation of SharePoint development support tickets. Act as the final point of escalation for SharePoint development production support
  • Oversee the daily development and support activities for all SharePoint, Imaging, and related systems
  • Identify and act on opportunities to improve efficiency, accelerate progress and reduce expenses by making specific targeted changes to process and practices while measuring the impact
  • Interpret and report metrics on a regular basis to track and demonstrate progress, trends and effectiveness of team activities
  • Direct the development and maintenance of custom software solutions in SharePoint and related systems
  • Establish and maintain strong inter-department relationships to align development tasks with business needs
  • Plan, direct, supervise, and coordinate work activities of staff
  • Responsible for employee development, discipline, performance appraisals, and administration of policies
  • Make recommendations regarding hiring, firing, and pay adjustments

Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree required, an emphasis in Computer Science, Web Development, Information Systems or a related field of study preferred
  • Three (3) years of experience in SharePoint administration, development, or analysis; senior level experience preferred
  • Three (3) years of experience in software development or design
  • Two (2) years of experience in a leadership position on a software development team
  • Knowledge of virtualization, SharePoint, Office 365, MS Project Server, Windows Server technologies, Active Directory, and SQL Server
  • Strong troubleshooting skills to identify and resolve technical issues
  • Ability to maintain composure and adapt in a dynamic, fast-paced, customer-focused work environment characterized by rapid change, minimal lead times, and multiple competing priorities
  • Excellent analytical skills to understand business process and recommend solutions
  • Excellent verbal and written skills necessary in order to communicate intricate job-related processes
  • Demonstrated self-initiative to meet goals and ensure completion of objectives
  • Up to 10% domestic and international travel
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a valid driver’s license and passport
  • Requires a favorable motor vehicle report upon hire
  • Additional work hours including evenings, weekends and holidays as required
